Karen Sinclair
Karen Sinclair was born in England and her family immigrated to Canada in 1969 when she was 12-years-old.
Karen is a long-time activist for persons with disabilities and has championed the removal of systematic barriers on their behalf, in particular those who are Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing or who have a speech impediment. Her dedication has stemmed from her personal experience with communication barriers related to her late husband who was born hard of hearing and who lost his hearing later in life. Her advocacy has included getting involved in politics, in particular federal politics where she has been elected in many positions in her local federal riding association, including President for several years.
