Fatima Aden Osman
Fatima Aden Osman is the Vice-president of the Maison de la Francophonie in Ottawa. A committed woman from Djibouti, Ms. Aden Osman began her professional career in Canada as a French as a second language teacher and educational advisor for more than 10 years in language schools. She has worked as a civil servant at the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages, where she has gained knowledge and experience on the ins and outs of linguistic duality, and the challenges of official language minority communities ( CLOSM), especially that of Francophones. She is currently working in the public service in the area of accessibility.
Very involved in the community, she represents visible and ethno cultural minorities on the Advisory Committee on Children in Difficulty (CCED) of CEPEO, where she also sits as its Vice-President. She volunteers with other community organizations including the Acacia Foundation, Somali Canadian Mother Association, Somali Hope Academy Foundation, and Femmes Remarquables d’Ottawa Distinguished Women (FROttawaDW).
