Ketcia Dorsainville-Peters
Community Pillars
Ketcia Dorsainville-Peters is a visionary leader, global organizational change consultant, social justice advocate, and entrepreneur whose work spans local, national, and international spheres. Born in Haiti and raised in Montreal, she has dedicated her life to advancing equity, justice, and opportunity particularly for Ottawa’s Black, Francophone, and marginalized communities.
For over a decade, Ketcia served as Community Co-Chair of the Ottawa Police Community and Police Action Committee (COMPAC), where her leadership from 2011 to 2022 helped build trust and accountability between law enforcement and the Black community. A passionate advocate for systemic change, she remains a prominent national voice for racial equity, anti-racism, and community healing.
Ketcia’s influence extends to the global stage. Since 2023, she has represented Canada’s Black civil society as a delegate to the United Nations Permanent Forum for People of African Descent, participating in high-level forums in New York and Geneva. Her contributions support the UN International Decade for People of African Descent, advancing global conversations around justice, recognition, and development.
She is the founder and CEO of North-South Development Roots and Culture Canada, a Pan-African organization dedicated to equity, restorative justice, reconciliation, and youth empowerment. Through initiatives such as It’s a Trap—a youth-focused program addressing crime prevention, mental health, and systemic barriers—Ketcia has created lasting change in schools, communities, and diasporic aid networks.
As the principal consultant at The Ketcia Peters Group (KP Group Inc.), she specializes in change management, trauma-informed coaching, organizational development, and equity training. Through KP Group, she has shaped inclusive practices in nonprofits, corporations, and public institutions by curating events and strategies that foster meaningful and sustainable transformation.
A recognized force for social and economic empowerment, Ketcia was named one of Canada’s 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women in 2020 for her contributions to business and community development. She also played a pivotal role in the Federal Black Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Conference at Carleton University, supporting Black-owned businesses and promoting inclusive economic growth.
Ketcia is a Catalyst with Coralus (formerly SheEO), where she is pioneering new models of economic empowerment for women-led ventures. Since 2022, she has championed equity-centered funding models, mentorship, and business development. She currently serves as Chair of GroYourBiz, a global peer advisory board supporting women entrepreneurs. In this role, she facilitates strategic dialogue, fosters business growth, and provides a trusted network and resources to small and medium-sized women-owned enterprises.
In all her work, Ketcia applies a trauma-informed lens—integrating restorative communication, silence techniques, and cultural awareness to mediate conflict and promote healing. She brings this approach to global crises, including support efforts for communities impacted by Haiti’s political instability and natural disasters.
From her early experiences with poverty to her current leadership on international platforms, Ketcia Dorsainville-Peters exemplifies “heart work”—an unwavering commitment to justice, healing, and inclusion. A role model for young women, Black entrepreneurs, and changemakers alike, she is redefining leadership, sustainable development, and community impact—one bold initiative at a time.
