Recently retired, Carla Blasioli enjoyed a 35 year career with the Provincial Government in social services. She has worked for the Ministry of Community and Social Services and was a Counsellor at Rideau Regional Centre and, Manager of a Behavioural Unit at Huronia Regional Centre ensuring the safety and well-being of adults with developmental disabilities. She has also worked for the Ministry of Children and Youth Services auditing the Child Abuse Registrar and as a Licensing Inspector under the Child and Family Services Act, where she conducted annual inspections in licensed facilities and interviewed children living in Children Homes/Foster Homes and Young Offender Facilities, to ensure that their rights were respected. In addition, under the Day Nurseries Act she was Program Advisor (French Language Services) for the Ministry of Education where she was responsible for ensuring appropriate follow-up to all terms/conditions and provisions on licenses, assisting new Operators in opening new Child Care Centres and ensuring that all legislative requirements are met, and responding to Serious Occurrences and Enforcement for non-licensed child care operators.

 

Today, she is an active volunteer at Villa Marconi Long-Term Care Centre and enjoys spending her free time gardening and travelling.
